This story reminds me of my childhood days, when we were told about the bogeyman, witches, ghosts and many scary stories that filled us with fear.

I remember a very special one that my grandmother used to tell, I remember that story very clearly because it was the one that scared me the most, and it starts like this:

It was a dark and gloomy night, everyone was asleep, my grandmother has a son who used to escape at night with his friends to go out partying, he was very rowdy. My grandmother used to say: "Don't go out at night because you'll get a fright! And he made fun of her, he didn't listen to her.

He answered her: "That doesn't exist, those are tales of roads". One night he left the house, my grandmother heard a noise, got up and realized it was him opening the door.

My grandmother asked him: "Are you going out again, boy? It's raining with thunder and lightning, don't go out, you're going to get a scare, I've been told it's coming out around these parts".

"No mamá (le contesta mi tío) tú le vas creer a esas personas, esos son puros cuentos a mi nada me asusta". No le hizo caso y se fue.
"No mom (answered my uncle) you will believe those people, those are just stories, nothing scares me". He paid no attention and left.

Hours went by and nothing came back, the rain and lightning continued. At that moment my grandmother heard a very loud knock on the door: BANG, BANG, BANG! And she gets scared and asks, "Who is it?". "It's me, Omar!" it was her son knocking so hard that he woke up everyone in the house.

He was shouting saying: "Open the door, they are following me". She ran and immediately opened the door, he was all scared and trembling and said to my grandmother: "Oh mother, I saw a scary thing, it was what you said, it was an animal in the shape of a cow with no head and mooing, I remembered you mom, I ran out and that scary thing was behind me".

My grandmother told him: "You saw my son for not paying attention to me" and he almost cried and said: "Yes, mother, I won't do it again, how horrible, I'm trembling".

The next day when he woke up he told the story and from the fright he felt he even had a fever, it was something scary, his skin crawled. For the first time in his life he felt so scared, he told everyone what had happened to him, he felt so scared that he didn't go out at night anymore.

It was very traumatic for him, who used to say: "You have to listen to mothers and grandmothers, they are always right".

Moral: Always listen to your mothers and grandmothers, because the voice of experience speaks to them.
