*Hello friends of Hive and Openmic, I hope you are having a wonderful time. This week 119 I will be sharing a very nice song of our always remembered Simón Díaz El becerrito (La vaca mariposa). This song was a beautiful and wonderful contribution that Simón Díaz left in the history of Venezuelan music and that has allowed us to highlight our folklore, our culture and our traditions.
El Becerrito is the story of the most beautiful story that has existed in humanity, the birth of the baby Jesus, what Mary suffered to have him and then hide him from Herod who wanted to kill him and all that story, what I can't explain to me is how did our vaquita sabanera, our vaquita criolla, know that story?
The cowgirl sabanera stops her calf and hides it in a mogote, the next day she shows up at the milking pen with her belly very ordo with her belly sucking and her udder pressooota, the milker sees her and says to the calf farmer: "Ramon, when we let go, follow her.
Ramon when we let her go, follow the butterfly cow, she gave birth and who knows where she left the calf.
Ramoncito the calf farmer follows her, she turns around and if she sees that she is being followed she takes a different direction as if to throw her follower off, then he gets on a bush and waits, and waits, and waits, because she has to go to breastfeed the calf, depending on where she goes she finds out where she has the calf, then she herds them and takes the calf to the corral.
Notice in the song who are the three wise men who brought gold, incense and myrrh as gifts to the child; these are in my song the sheet that offers him greenery, the little streams that bring flowers at dawn and the parakeets and the sparrow hawk also, who bring Creole fruits to the caney.
Simón never explained how the Creole cow knew that story, but what she did know is that she knows that Herod is alive, that we are you, me and him, that every day they kill and we eat the son of the butterfly cow, that is why she hides him, because she knows his fate. Simon Diaz.*

The cow Mariposa had a calf
A calf as cute as a baby
Give it to me daddy say the children when they see it being born
and she hides it in the hills that I don't know
The cow Mariposa had a terne
The savannah offers her greenery
The little streams all bring her flowers at dawn
And she hides it by the hummocks that I don't know
The cow Mariposa had a terne
and the parakeets go and the sparrow hawk too
With Creole fruits up to the caney, for him
And Mariposa doesn't know what to do
Because she knows his fate(bis)
