It's no news that parents are responsible for the overall wellbeing of their children, which revolves around different aspects of life, such as shelter, clothing, feeding, financial and the likes. However, while that's understood, how long is such responsibility meant to last? Is it till the children grows to a certain age or they ought to just keep carrying these responsibilities forever? I know many people have different takes on this subject matter, for instance some believe it should stop when they child has been groom to a certain age, while other felt it should go on for as long as the parents can go. But Which do I think is ideal? Find out below.

You see, to be honest, I'm of the opinion that in truth parents who should be responsible for the wellbeing of their children, however I don't think that taking such responsibility should last forever, it should have a limit or a time to stop, not like stop stop, but just more or like a sign to make them understand that they're no longer kids and should recognise the fact that they're now adults who should be taking responsibility themselves. I mean if a parent keeps helping their child every needs even when they're adults, that means such a child who's now an adult won't understand what it means to work and take responsibility for themselves not to talk of others such as the wife and children they'll have in the future.

The fact that parents stop taking responsibility for their children doesn't mean they no longer love them, it only a process of letting them know they're no longer kids and are now grown enough to carry the Barton that their parents once carried on their behalf. My parents for example, even thought me this lesson earlier in life and it helped me alot I settling to this new role of adulthood. I'm sure you'll be wondering how they helped me with that. Well it's the fact that whenever I needed something during my teenage days upwards and I said I need a certain amount, they'll only give me half of it and encourage me to go hustle to get the other half via a legit job. Doing this often went on shape shape my resilience and ability to take responsibility as an adult.

I know many of these things we said are because many of our parents ain't wealthy, I mean imagine your parents are the Dangote or the Otedola's, given their wealth you can be rest assured that they'll have the capability to cater for their children financially need for as long as possible, unlike we middle class family, whose parents needs to stop at a point, so that they can conserve what they earn at a later stage in their life for their old age when they won't be able to work again.

But regardless of the kind of home your from when it comes to their financial status, I believe parents would always be ready to help their children out when they're in need, my parents still help me whenever I'm in a tight corner and I seek their help, and even when I don't, they can sense the situation I'm in and just send financial support as though they don't know what I'm going through. So overall while I believe there should be a limit, reaching that limit doesn't mean you'll stop helping, and neither does it mean you as a child should keep demanding. Learn to appreciate what you've done for you and instead seek ways to repay their sacrifices, rather than focusing on what you can get from them all the time.
