HELLO FELLOW NEEDLEWORKER AND FRIENDS
Firstly I'll love to wish all my Christian friends and the those in the #Needleworkmonday Community a happy Easter, I pray the birth and death of Christ will not be in vain in our lives, so as you celebrate this holy season with your love one's, kindly extend my greetings to them and as well sent my portion of the delicacy meant for today馃い鈽猴笍, today I'll be sharing how I made this pam Slippers for my clients.
Festive season is always a two side of a coin for crafter's and outfit makers, one because you're excited about the prospect of getting more fund via people coming in and out of our store to place other for Footwear's they needed, another is because of the stress that comes along with being saddled with the responsibility of making several footwear demand in short short time and always trying to keep to time and not disappoint your client, so they won't get the wrong idea about your kind of person.
Personally I usually try to meet up with most of the Footwear's order o got, and when I felt I can't meet up, I just collect such order and give it to my fellow cobbler friend who as less work to do,and I'm sure he is good and will craft Qualify Footwear's for my clients, I don't think it's idea to turn down clients when am not sure I can collect their work as at when they want it, that's why I do take such order and give to me co cobblers.
But I think I'll need to employ a well trained cobbler, who's looking for an office space for his craft, I believe that way, we can work together and meet up with every orders we get, cause presently I only have one apprentice and obviously their are limit to what he can do.
No into the making proper of the pan Slippers, here are the Material attached to the Slippers being used.
Suede material: which is a type of Shoemaking leather material gotten from animal skin, it's kind of soft in texture and always last longer during usage.
Polyurethane rubber sole: this is a kind of foreign outsole use in the under/outter part of the slippers, this type of sole are very strong and very easy to move about with.
- Buckle: the is a brass like Material use to join or adjust the firmness of Footwear's to our taste.
- Shoe last: while the using process is called shoe lasting, it's s plastic or wooden Material crafted in the shape of human leg and it comes in different sizes for both gender, its use to determine the size and firmness of shoes base on the measurements taken from the client.
- Marco insole and linning:** Marco is kind of Material use for the insole of shoes, it can also be use for outsole depending on the size, it as different sizes with is base on how tick it's. While the linning is a plain Material use to cover the insole, it's also use to cover the other part of our shoe upper.
- Grinding machine/scrapper: this is a devise use for fill the shoe edges to form a smoot shape, it's also use on shoe back to have a rough surface, so the gum will work and make the part join together perfectly.
Crafting/joining process
After cutting out and Sewing each parts, I attached buckles on each part of the upper, then I just rub gum on the edge of the upper and then insole, and join them together, then I put it inside the wooden shoe last to ascertain the firmness of the Pam Slippers.
After that I also run gum on the back of the sole and insole, left it for some minutes and then join it together, after that I hit it thoroughly with hammer 馃敤 so it can join firmly, then I clean and neat it with finishing gum and polished.
- And here is our Pam Slippers looking so gorgeous 馃グ, and the client was full of praises when he got hold of it, makes me happy.
