Hello everyone, welcome to @hivediy community. I'm
@emmanuel50 Today I want show you how I make a brown shoe design. I once made this same design in black colour material, so this time I want to make it with brown colour material. So you can come with me and see how I made it.
Materials Used
1 pairs of thick maco faceless
1 pairs of thick brown leather
3 pairs of soft brown leather
3 pairs of lining
5 pairs of faceless
4 pairs of thick black faceless
1 pair of fancy
2 pairs of fybal
1 pair of welt
Top gum
Tools Used
Filing machine
Knife
Measuring tape
Scissors
Brush
Razor
Hammer
First, I gather all the necessary materials as usual. To make the work go straight without missing or looking for any material, it can cause distraction. So I gather all the necessary materials in one place to get the work started.
Firstly, I use a straight top pattern. I place it on a brown leather and mark it into four pieces. After I mark it, I carefully cut it with my scissors to avoid rough work.
When I finish cutting it, I create a hole and fix my fancy on top of two of the four straight pieces.
After that, I took the top to the sewing machine, then I sew the two edge parts all around the shoe. I make sure I sew it properly to bring out the best shape of the shoe.
I took the shape of my insole and marked it on a fiber and also on a faceless material. After marking it, I cut it into shape, apply gum and join them together.
Then I took my sandpaper and used it to smooth the edge of the insole until it came out very neat and smooth. After smoothing it, I applied gum to a leather and wrapped the insole with it.
I took the pattern for the back sole, marked it on Nora and cut it into shape. Then I applied gum around the edge of the sole and applied my welt around it, leaving a space in between the sole part.
The middle gap is the place where I will position my insole together with the top, so I made sure I applied the welt properly and left enough space for the insole to be placed.
After applying the welt, I took the sole to the filing machine and smoothed the round edges until it came out very smooth.
This filing part is very necessary because it is going to give you a very neat work without making it rough. So I filed the rough edges carefully to make them come out smooth and neat.
I took the top which I just finished sewing together with my insole, then I lasted the shoe properly.
I placed the top on the last and adjusted it to give it a very good balance before lasting it.
After I finished lasting the top, I applied gum to the lasted upper together with my sole. I made sure I applied gum on every necessary area of the shoe, I use this particular lasting gum image process in one of my tutorial.
So I left it in the sun to dry for about 1 hour, so that it would catch and hold well without peeling when the owner is wearing it.
Final Look🤎
And this is the final look of the shoe.
It was really a good moment making this shoe, and I really enjoyed making it. It also taught me more ideas because I have made this kind of design before, but in a sandal method.
So while I was making it, an idea came to me to make it without looking entirely like a sandal, and this is the outcome. I am so excited because I got some ideas while making the shoe, and I am really glad I shared the process here with you again in this amazing community.
All the pictures are mine and were originally taken by me with no editing.
See you guys in my next tutorial. ❤️🤗
