Electricity is very important in our everyday life, it makes life easier, be it at home, hospitals, company or factories. We need electricity at home to watch news, power some electrical appliances, in companies and factories that deal with heavy machineries needs electricity to power those machineries, hospitals need electricity for different purposes. Some shops on our streets that seeks frozen foods, drinks and cold water needs electricity. Honestly, the importance of electricity can't be overemphasized.
Where I school at ondo state, there hasn't been light for more than 10 years and the people has gotten used to generator, majority of them, especially kids don't know what NEPA is. But thank God that few months ago the electricity issue was resolved and they now have constant electricity, from what I heard, out of 24 hours of electricity they have 22 hours, I think that's a great improvement.
Where I base currently in Ibadan, there was no stable light few years ago. The community can go for weeks to months without NEPA light and people were trying to adapt by getting generators or installing solar panels. Even with generators, not everyone could power it because of the cost of fuel. I remember when my sister and I would stay alert to the sound of generator, so we would be able to charge.
But recently, things have changed. We now get the NEPA light, I'm always excited each time there's light because I can sit at the comfort of my home and charge my phone, watch TV and use electrical appliances. Although most times, the light will be brought in the middle of night, I'm still glad there's light because I get to charge, even though I can't watch TV.
Power supply is very important in life. Without it, life becomes harder. No cold water to drink, no fan to cool you, no TV to watch news, and even small businesses suffer. Welders, barbers, frozen food sellers, all depend on electricity. Imagine where a barber charges more money when he uses generator to barb and charges less when he uses electricity.
I really hope that one day, the electricity will become more stable and we can have 24 hours light. I believe this will help the nation's growth significantly.
