I have been eating out for weeks now and my waist belts are not happy with the extra hole I have had to punch in. I decide to cook, have something homemade. Unfortunately, I don't have all the ingredients I need but I still go ahead trying to prepare fried rice.
I've got some frozen vegetables, the worse kind. It's got peas and I hate peas but with these stuff, the options are limited. Well at my local mart, it is.
I wash some short grain rice, drain and fry in a drizzle of oil with some mashed garlic and chopped onions. Fry, pour some water in and let in cook. Drain keep aside. Fry veges and then combine with the rice. Fast forward, there are some sausages to throw in there as well.
I would like to tell you it was yummy. Well it was not. That's not to say it was bad. Some people might have it and find it very good. I'm not one of those people. Two factors came into play in making this low effort meal Nothing but sustenance. First, I prefer fresh vegetables and second fresh vegetables are preferred. There was also the part were I succumbed to the thought expressed by a rainbow interneter saying curry prevents natural flavours from coming through. Obviously there was no desirable natural flavours in this set up.
The verdict is that the flavours from bell peppers add fresh carrots maketh a nice fried rice for me.
