As many of you might have read this year hasn't been a great year for me and my family so far. Although we are moved to a new house, which is great, the rest wasn't that good....
Because of my health me and my family didn't had an summer-break. So my wife and I decided that we would go on a short Holiday at the autumn break the 20th of October to Crete, Greece.
We had told our boys that we would go afterall just to blow of some steam and have a great quality time....Untill....... Monday....
On the radio the news was broadcoasted that Thomas Cook UK was bankrupt. At first I thought (and what they told in the news) that it only was the UK settling, but today the news was that it's not only the UK but also Germany and Holland. We had booked our holiday in Germany (because of the airport being closer to our home then the one in Amsterdam) and for now it's unsure how things will go....
In Holland there is a foundation which will take over the holidays or payment obligations when a airliner or travelcompany goes bankrupt..In Germany it still is unsure for us how things will go.
To begin with we just want our well deserved holiday, a refund of course when the can't asure our holiday, but the focus is our holiday.
A refund will only happen when the German firm is really bankrupt, untill that we just have to wait. As you can imagine until that happens we aren't able to book another holiday before there is more clarity about our (already paid) trip.....
You can imagine the big disapointment in the house of Verhp11.....
So we keep our fingers crossed on a positive outcome, either way will do, refund or the trip beeing takeover by another agent....
Well, thanks for the attention, I think I am going to sit in a little corner of our house crying :)
