I thought it is time for a small challenge, no real prizes :) But a big value in music.
Going trough my music collection I could recall a lot of times when that particular song or album was 'hot' or where I listened to at that time. In this list a couple of songs which I can remember very well....

This song was a big hit when I was about 13 or 14 years. At that time I went to a campsite in the south of France every single year with my parents and brothers. The place we always went was Goudarques, a small village at the river "La Ceze". Every year also the same friends came there over and over again and every year it was awesome. We went to all kind of parties in and around the village. Imagine a big drive in show in the streets, warm, people having fun.... That's were I heard this song for the first time. In fact it was one of the first songs I ever have slow-danced at, with a French girl of course :)

In 1989 Kind Bee had this massive Hit with "Back by dope demand". King Bee was a Dutch production which at that time was very succesfull. In the late 80's / early 90's we went out a lot. Together with two of my best friends at that time we often also went out on sunday afternoon to a Bar in Zelhem, the place was called "De Peardestal" which means something like "Horse stable". It was the only bar/disco which was open on the sunday afternoon. A lot of friends from Zutphen went there every week. This song was played a lot and of course (the cool dudes we were) we were standing at the side of the dancefloor being tough and cool :)

In the same period as King Bee C+C Music factory had this worldwide hit with "Gonna make you sweat". All the guys wanted to dance like the lead rapper, but of course no one could ;).
The way old friends do - ABBA

As some of you might know I have a weak for ABBA, I really love their music very much. My mother was always a big fan of Abba, she bought all sort of things as long as Abba was on it. Coffee cups, import vinyl albums, mucisal books...anything. This song reminds me of two things, the first is my presence at the concert of Abba in Rotterdam. This was in 1973, I was 7 at that time. My mother took me to the concert and although I was very young I can remember the whole show, even now.. There aren't a lot of people in Holland who can say they have seens abba in concert. :)
The second memory is this song specific, it reminds me of my grandfather. He was a great man with a big heart. Unfortunate he died when I was only 11.... But I always will remember that "The way old friends do" moved him. Everytime he was at our house he wouldn't leave until my father putted on this song one time. I will never forget his face, full of emotion and enjoying music as music should be enjoyed.
Well, there will be more but for now I will leave it with these four songs. I hope you like them.
