The new soccer season is about to start in the Netherlands. Our local club just finished a soccer event for three days for our youth as a glorious start for the new season. There were 96 kids who entered the event, three days all about football, engagement with one and antother and just having a great itme.
Besides some nice matches the also had a lot of practice to become the ultimate soccer player :)
Every year we try to organize a great closure of the three soccer days. This year a match between a real professional soccer team from Deventer (Go Ahead Eagles) was invited to play against our first team.
The place was crowded, a real challenge to stick to the social distance at te club. We pointed people on the fact they didn't hold the 1,5 meter, but it is difficult to get their attention for it.
The match was exiting, even our club came in advantage with the first goal... But after a while you could see that the pro club are well trained and are in a much better condition then our boys. With technique they weren't that better though.. It was a great match to see.
You could hear the exitement in the crowd when the boys from Zutphen went for the ball and almost scored the second goal... The atmosphere was great.
Eventually our boys lost with 2 goals for us and three for the opponent. But they fought really well, like real lions.
Now with the weekend ahead we got our first regular matches on the sport-park, there will be about 20 matches on saturday... Let's see how that goes in terms of Corona measures...
