A Ride, a Reunion, and a Small Mishap [ENG|SPA]
My greetings and respect to everyone in the Hive community. I want to tell you about part of my afternoon yesterday, since I had gone days without publishing. I was waiting for public transportation to go to work because my bicycle is currently being repaired.
Then a friend passed by on his motorcycle and gave me a ride to my workplace. Since we hadn't seen each other in a while, we had the chance to talk for a bit. I worked with him at a fast food stand at the end of 2022, and we became very close friends. He asked about my health, my family, how my girlfriend is doing, and what my younger brother is up to these days. To be honest, it was really nice to catch up after so long.
When we arrived at my destination, I showed him how the place where I work is coming along. I told him that whenever he wanted, he could come visit me, and even better, I could offer him a good cachapa with hand cheese and plenty of butter. We said goodbye affectionately and agreed to see each other again soon.
After going in and greeting my colleagues, I got ready to help with the labor, separating the corn husk and leaving the cob free so I could slice the kernels with the knife — a slow and quite complex process, as always. However, we had already made progress cutting corn, and I usually sharpen the knife so it doesn't lose its edge and work is easier.
But unfortunately, I cut my hand quite dramatically. Although it was a superficial cut, and I am already used to it after 3 years in this trade, these things happen — the knife pierces right through the glove. Fortunately, I received first aid, and they gave me a pack with 5 adhesive bandages to help me stop the bleeding. Once the bleeding stopped, I didn't stop my work, and I dedicated myself to grinding the corn grain in its entirety.

Mis saludos y respetos para todos en la comunidad Hive. Les quiero contar en esta ocasión cómo fue parte de mi tarde el día de ayer, ya que tenía días sin publicar. Me encontraba esperando el transporte público para ir al trabajo porque mi bicicleta en este momento la estoy reparando.
Cuando pasó un amigo en su moto y me dio un aventón hacia mi lugar de trabajo. Como teníamos tiempo sin vernos, tuvimos el chance de conversar un poco. Yo trabajé junto con él en un puesto de comida rápida a finales del año 2022 y nos hicimos amigos muy cercanos. Me preguntó por mi salud, por mi familia, cómo está mi novia, y sobre qué hace actualmente mi hermano menor. Para ser honesto, fue muy agradable ponernos al día después de tanto tiempo.
Luego al llegar a mi destino le mostré cómo iba quedando el local donde trabajo. Le dije que cuando quisiera podía venir a visitarme y más aún podría brindarle una buena cachapa con queso de mano y bastante mantequilla. Nos despedimos afectuosamente y quedamos de acuerdo para vernos otra vez pronto.
Luego de entrar y saludar a mis compañeros me dispuse a ayudar con la mano de obra para ir separando la hoja de maíz y dejar la mazorca libre para con el cuchillo rebanar los granos, lo cual es un proceso tardado y bastante complejo para variar. Sin embargo, ya habíamos avanzado el proceso de cortar maíz y yo suelo amolar el cuchillo para que no pierda filo y sea más sencillo trabajar.
Pero desafortunadamente me corté la mano escandalosamente. Aunque fue un corte superficial y ya estoy acostumbrado luego de 3 años en este rubro, suceden este tipo de cosas en el que el cuchillo perfora hasta el guante. Afortunadamente recibí primeros auxilios y me regalaron un pliego con 5 banditas adhesivas para ayudarme a detener el sangrado. Una vez detenida la hemorragia, no detuve mi trabajo y me dediqué a moler el grano de maíz en su totalidad.
Hoy ya me encuentro mejor de la herida. Espero que este post sea de su agrado. Tendré mucho más cuidado para la próxima. Nos leemos en la siguiente publicación, estén atentos.
