No siempre leo mucho.

There are sensations that are difficult to explain because they don't need too many words. One of them is lying down on freshly changed sheets.
I don't know if it's the smell of cleanliness, the freshness of the fabric, or that feeling of getting into a bed that seems to be waiting for you. Maybe it's a combination of everything.
I especially love that moment after changing the sheets.
First comes the work of taking off the old ones, shaking them out, putting on the clean ones, and arranging every corner. Nothing extraordinary. Just another household chore.
But when I'm finished, there is always a moment when I stop, look at the bed, arrange the pillows, run a hand over the freshly placed sheet. And then that smell appears.
That simple smell that says: it is clean here, you can rest here. It may seem silly, but sometimes those are exactly the little signs we need.
Because there are days when our minds are full of things.
Things left unfinished, worries, conversations we keep going over even though they have already ended. Problems for which we still haven't found a solution.
And then I walk into my bedroom, see the freshly made bed, and feel that, at least in that little space, something is in its place.
It doesn't mean my problems have disappeared. It simply means I have a place where I can rest from them for a while.
And that's where my favorite part comes in.
After a shower, I put on something comfortable, pick up a book, and lie down.
I don't always read much. Sometimes I get through a few pages and realize that I'm simply too tired.
Other times, the story manages to draw me in, and I keep reading longer than I had planned.
But even when I don't get very far, the moment was already worth it.
The bed is fresh, the pillow is soft, the book rests in my hands.
And for a few minutes, I don't need to do anything else.
I like to think that there are little new beginnings that don't require big decisions. We don't always need to change jobs, start a project, move somewhere else, or decide to transform our entire lives.
Sometimes all we need to do is change the sheets.
It may sound exaggerated, but there are nights when a clean bed feels almost like turning a page. Not because the next day is going to be perfect.
Not because our problems will disappear while we sleep. But because it reminds me that I can still do small things to feel better within my own life.
And perhaps that's what is beautiful about simple rituals.
They don't have to solve anything. They just have to offer us a moment of well-being. A small refuge, a pause.
A pleasant feeling that reminds us that we can also take care of the way we inhabit our own space.
There is something deeply comforting about ending a difficult day between clean sheets with a book beside you.
As if, for a moment, I could tell myself:
Today was what it was. I can't change it, but tonight I can rest.
Tomorrow will be another day. And perhaps that is the little new beginning I needed.
Because sometimes starting over doesn't mean beginning a different life.
Sometimes it simply means lying down in a clean bed, breathing in that fresh scent, and allowing yourself to rest before trying again tomorrow.
And yes, it may seem like a small thing.
But that's precisely what this series is made of.
Those things that don't change the world, but somehow manage to make our little world feel a little better.
Thank you for reading.
