So, in a nutshell. What we are seeing is a push to normalize VR/Avatars. Using the power of Gaga to push her virtual self on her fans in an attempt to create the sort of avatard worship that we see in Japan today.
Why?

However, as long as humans are in relationships with each other, they still have the compacity to want to build a family. But, if they program people to love things rather than other people. Well.. you can imagine the significant effect that would have on the human population.
