John 3:1

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

verse: 2

This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."

Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the Sanhedrin. Seemingly he did not want to be seen by people talking to Jesus hence he approached Him by night.

His purpose of visiting Jesus was to find out the truth about Jesus beliefs. He came purposely to make sure of all things so that he could trust Jesus Christ alone.

He knew that knowing God is not only to see His works but to learn His ways. He came to make sure of all things and hold on to that which was true.

Many Christians today are dependable on what they read from newspapers, searching the Internet, listening to the radio, watching TV, what other people are telling them about God.

We are exposed to things not persistent to God’s Word. This is because we are a generation without faith and without hope.

One thing is sure, trusting in Christ Jesus is not a mere intellectual acknowledgment of His person, to trust in, faith in and total dependence upon Him for everything. It is the Word that establishes, it builds Christ nature in us.

It is the Word of His grace that builds faith in the heart of believers.
