How's it going Steemers??
So we have decided to build a Remembrance garden in our back yard. It will be a place where we can reminisce while caring to some beautiful plants.
The first step is to build a retaining wall for the garden.
To partially fund this project we have been saving up all our cans and bottles to recycle them. We got 10 cents per bottle or can. And @terrybogan has been doing some online surveys which she receives gift vouchers that we can use at bunnings.
Bunnings is a huge hard ware store in Australia that now has complete monopoly over the market.
We purchased the supplies that we need to build this retaining wall.
Then the first job was to relocate this cactus from here
To here
I will eventually have to relocate all of the cactus but this one need to go first to make room for the retaining wall.
Zeus seems to approve 馃槉
I layed out the timber to measure it all.
Mark where the stakes had to go.
Then we painted the bottom sleepers.
Now it was time to line it all up and hammer in the stakes.
As you can see the land is extremely dry here so it wa a bit hard getting the stakes in.
Then drill in the sleepers.
Give it a quick paint.
And she is done!!
We capped the end of the garden with some rocks we had in the back yard.
Zeus gave it a quick inspection and gave it the all clear.
So next step will be digging up the ground to fill in the garden with soil and then start planting.
So stay tuned for part 2 coming soon.
