Prelude
Hello everybody, how is it going? It's time again for Share Your Battle. You must be wondering why am I doing a sharing on Harklaw once again. There were some interesting matches especially on the new soul bound cards but they ended up becoming a participant rather than showcasing what they truly are. Also I am trying to collect more copies of them to level up. So once I able to find a suitable battle, I will share on those. But today, I want to showcase a dual tank match that I played recently where Harklaw was instrumental.
Thoughts on Harklaw
This big tattooed beast is a reliable servant in my lineup and time to time shown me how much utility it can bring me.
Let's us refresh on the stats, growth and abilities of Harklaw:
| Mana | Attack | Health | Speed | Armour | Ability |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | 2 (Melee) | 9 | 2 | 3 | Shield |
Bronze League - NA
Silver League - Immunity
Gold League - Demoralize
Beyond Gold - Attack + 1, Health + 1
What does Harklaw looking on growth?
This is a card that effectively disables melee attackers. Shield + Demoralize is the one combination to make general melee attackers to scratch it instead of harming it. Not forgetting that Harklaw also gains immunity as it becomes level 2, making it able to withstand the poison from Noxious Fumes.
Alritey, let's see start the battle sharing.

Opponent Lineup
Prediction before pressing rumble
Very interesting opponent I am facing. Using a death splinter summoner but effectively the whole lineup is made up of neutral monsters. I have fielded all the card I feel is needed for me to secure victory into this lineup. While opponent lineup is full neutral monster, all are very strong ones with 4 legendary cards and the hard hitting Sand Worm.
Let's get ready to rumble
Round 1, Because Coeurl Lurker has taunt, every attack went its way and within this turn, it was fully taken out. While on the other hard for my Harklaw, only the armour had been shed this round.
Round 2, Speed of my cards vs my opponent's gave me an edge where Lira took out Spirit Hoarder, Sha-vi and Thug took out Sand Worm and yes Harklaw is still at full health.
Round 3, Lira took out Mantoid, Sha-vi took out Kinjo and Cursed Windeku took out Alvar. Victory secured!
After Thoughts
I was kind of worried when I saw the summoner of my opponent revealed because it meant that he or she can actually add a Gladius card to the lineup with the likes of Trapp, Xulax and Whistling Damon. If they are to be in the lineup, potentially the outcome might swing in their favour. However, Harklaw shined throughout this match to keep everyone in the backline safe, allowing the Sha-vi and Lira to administer damage to opponent lineup unscathed.
Did my strategy work in this game? In the match, my strategy was to do a double tank. Making use of the characteristics of the 2 tanks that I own for death splinter. Windeku with thorns to handle the front and causing attackers to take back damage and Harklaw to anchor the back with its shield because this match had a super sneak rule set, which it did really well.
Will I be using such a lineup in the future? Yes. If the mana permits I will, because this lineup takes up alot of mana to place both tanks at front and back. On a lower mana match, it will be tricker and alternative options have to explored such as monsters with armour/shield or flying at the front instead of the 2 I used in this match.
Super Sneak Ruleset
This ruleset makes every melee monster other than the first to be able to smash the backline instead of the front line. As such a tank with shield ability will be a good option to put at the backline to protect the monsters whom are more vulnerable to heavy melee attacks. Examples such as Harklaw (Death), Chaos Knight (Life), Antoid Platoon (Fire), Mcyelic Infantry (Earth), Frozen Solider (Water) or Dumacke Orc (Neutral) with shield ability are good considerations for backline protection. Else, we need to dig deep into those that have high armour or prepare cards with Triage to continuously heal up these cards that protect the backline. Something to ponder upon during your next Super Sneak ruleset match.
Like I mentioned in my previous Share Your Battle for Harklaw, this card doesn't look fancy other legendary cards but this card just does work. Giving you the extra protection that you need and surviving sufficiently in Noxious Fumes ruleset. If you still do not own a copy, wait no further, make sure you get one right now or keep it on continuous rental.
