Honestly, I'm not the type of girl who likes white men, chinitos or what they call 'handsome' in their eyes. While some are obsessed with Koreans or the men we see on television who are typically tall, with a good physique, you will notice that I have no passion for that. It's not that I like ugly. But I still prefer brainy and the collection of men who have something to say. What I mean is, that's where I'm more obsessed with hardworking, independent and really strong men. It's just a bonus for me if he's so handsome.
So going back to my chosen topic for this week, let me tell you a story where I was almost captured by a man I met in college. Let's hide him under the name Goyo. Just on the first day of our class in 2019, he was immediately recognized because of his good looks. Don't get me wrong, but that's what introduced him more. So this is Goyo, I can say he is a kind and strong man. But one of the things that some people like about him is his intelligence. He is a quiet person, serious tho often a bit funny but I noticed that he can lead an entire section. This is Goyo, I can say that he is a favorite of some teachers because he knows how to get along with other people. One of the first things I admired about him was his generosity to other people. I was very lucky because I was one of the girls who got close to him. Don't get me wrong, we both have partners and we know our limits. But I can only say one thing, when I had a crush on Goyo, it turned into a relationship that was like a split stone or in short- we treat each other like brothers and sisters.
Goyo has helped me with school tasks several times and I can say that he is a true friend. Because he and I were in a relationship, I really stopped myself from falling for him completely. Also, I know that it's also unclear that we can be because we have a big difference and we also have standards that we look for in other people that we can't give to each other. Because of that, we remain close friends.
March 2020, we were all at school and we didn't know that this would be our last meeting. Suddenly, the entire university suspended classes and sent all students home. Our last interaction with each other was the attendance record he was holding. He asked me why I didn't go home yet but I said I was going to join some of our friends to eat at the Mall. Almost everyone is afraid because of the announcement of the spread of Covid-19 so others are rushing home. And the last thing I heard from him was, "Hayds, be careful on your way home".
Up to this day, 2023, I still haven't heard anything from him because we didn't really add each other on social media. I hear some from my friends but most of them are not his friends on Facebook either. Maybe he's just too lazy on that kind of platform. And since tomorrow, Monday, January 23, 2023, I will be returning to our university again, I am not expecting to see him because we are in different departments. But if we meet, I want to immediately ask how he is doing, especially during the height of the Covid pandemic. If you ask me, maybe it's not a bad thing to have a crush on someone especially if we see that he is a really good person. But for me, it is better to control this kind of feeling especially when we are in a relationship. Remember, admiration is different from love.
