This is a great firelookout to visit as its a long but easy trail to get to the top. There is a water fall on the way up (about half the distance, only about 1/4 of the altitude up though). Makes for a good stopping spot.
Anyway, the watchman up here was very friendly, told us about the building, how they moved it up years ago for him on a truck, which took many days to climb the mountain road as they had to widen, build it up and move rock the whole way while hauling the building up in pieces...
It was reassembled on the top of the mountain and has been there as a summer home for many years, several summers of which this watchman has held it for and called it home.
