Hello friends in Hive Garden Community, yesterday I visited one of the nursery centers in the village of Kuta Rakyat, Berastagi sub-district, Karo district. J 366 is a nursery center for vegetables.Kuta Rakyat village has a cool climate, so it is suitable for nurseries of various vegetables and fruits. J 366 has several business fields that are oriented towards vegetable and various fruit nurseries. J 366, located in Kuta Rakyat Village, specializes in handling red chilies,Cayenne pepper, pakcoy, various mustard greens, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower.
J 366 Nursery sells a variety of uprooted seedlings, seedling pots and polybags. The revoked seeds are usually sold per seed by way of revoking. seeds that are sold by removing the seeds are usually in the form of cauliflower, broccoli and red chilies.
The seeds that are sold by uprooting are planted in land in the form of a shipyard and given a transparent plastic shade. This plastic is placed on a frame made of iron in the shape of a parabola. In this way the seedlings will be protected from heat and rain.
As for the seeds that are sold in seedling pots, the seeds are planted in pots with a diameter of 2-3 cm. What's interesting is that they made these pots from banana stems which were shaped round and square, then filled with soil as a planting medium, these pots were then arranged on a wooden pallet in the shape of a box. In one pallet there are 100 plant seeds. On each pallet is given the date of planting the name of the seed planted.
The advantage of using wooden pallets is that they are easy to use, they can save space because they can be arranged like shelves and easily moved. Large-scale vegetable growers usually purchase seedlings in these wooden pallets.
While the seeds sold in polybags are selected seeds that are adjusted to the demands of farmers. The polybag used is generally 8x9 cm in size. The seeds planted in polybags are usually cayenne pepper, red chili and broccoli.
This vegetable nursery is carried out in a green house made of bamboo as the pillars and transparent plastic as the roof.
During the day with sunny weather like today, the wind was blowing quite hard, but we weren't too hot, because the climate here is cool. I feel at home for a long time here, because I like learning about plants.
Because the location of the nursery is in the highlands and it is difficult to get water, they dig wells up to tens of meters. This way they can water the seedlings in the morning and evening.
The planting medium used is a mixture of soil and fermented cow dung. For the price of cow dung, they buy it at 25K-30K per jute.
I bought 50 cauliflower seeds, I will try to grow them in the garden and pots. I bought the seeds for Rp. 140 / seeds. Even though the weather in my area tends to be hot, I will try to plant these cauliflower seeds. because cauliflower likes habitats with cool climates.
Thank you for visiting and reading my post.
Best Regards
