HAPPY WEEKEND VISIT PLANNED, WENT SOUTH.

This weekend, my best friend hurt my feelings and I’m finding it very difficult to get over it. When I tell you what happened, you’d definitely be like oh what’s the big deal?, it’s so trivial, yada yada; but really it’s as though there’s been an accumulation of hurt feelings. Do you get? It’s been a series of bad attitudes or maybe not bad, just ones I don’t like and therefore don’t approve of. Okay fine, let me get to it and stop having you wonder. I was in the kitchen, washing sliced yams and then he yelled, “Gabrielle come o!”. Of course my response was that I’ll be right there, then he says your mom’s calling, she’s been trying to reach you but it’s not connecting. Then, assuming she called on my own phone since it’s highly unlikely that she’d call my best friend, I said oh okay, I’ll call her back, my hands are full.

My mom doesn't approve of him so she wouldn't call him unless it was urgent and this wasn't. I know because I had just spoken to my sister before hitting the kitchen.

Next thing I know, this guy starts speaking in such a rude tone at the same time as me explaining that I can’t leave what I was doing, and all that scolding while my mom was still on the call

Yeah, my mom had called on her cell not mine, and so she could hear everything. As I was saying to him that he had to mind how he speaks to people, he aggressively put the phone to my ear. I removed my face in frustration and the phone fell. Don’t worry, it’s a burner phone. He picked it up and walked away in anger. Fast forward to 1minute later when I had called my mom back and received a scolding for apparently “refusing” to take her call, with the question as to whether I’ve gone mad, I saw him walk by and tried to address the situation but he just walked out on me. It was so annoying. Anyway, that night, I finished cooking the yams in hot oil, didn’t have the stomach to cook eggs as was earlier agreed, dished a portion for me and went to bed. No words till the next day, when I packed my shit and told him I was leaving. I even said don’t bother seeing me off but he came down anyway, 🙄 talking to me and acting like nothing happened. He usually just wants to pretend everything’s cool without any apologies when we have fights 🤦🏾‍♀️.
