Mrs Virgy, a botanist, is uncompromising about her diet which she describes as health food. By heath food she means what health workers describe as balanced food. But Virgy does not like the term "balanced food". She says it should be properly described as "adequate diet".
This is a food that has all the classes of nutrients, including, carbohydrate, protein, minerals and vitamins, among others in the right amount. She does not joke with the vegetable component of a balanced diet, especially because of the good effect it has on the bowel movement.
Because of her insistence, and making much fuse about changing the term "balanced diet" to "adequate diet", her colleagues in the office refer to her as "Mrs Adequate" which she accepts. Even her husband has challenged her, telling her that the two terms convey about the same meaning yet, show remains adamant.
As far as she is concerned, there is nothing like balanced diet. It's adequate diet which carries the meaning of completeness of nutrients in the right proportions.
Virgy is fund of her diet and always frowns at people eating unhealthy food, especially those eating junk food. "Eat adequate food all the time so that you will have an adequate life to live". That's her slogan as far as food is concerned.
