Had a rather fun and interesting weekend. I went to see the film"Isle of Dogs", attended a multi-media performance and went to a few fun spirit dens. I also finished some pieces of art on Steemit and Dada and watched Natsume Yuujinchou; not a bad time.
Friday night I went to see "Isle of Dogs" with my brother; I won't post spoilers; but it is a beautiful film if you get a chance to see it. In the front of the Dome Theatre in Hollywood there is a diorama of the classroom from the film.
The details are exquisite.
Saturday night we went to see a a multi-media perfomance a friend produced. It combined music, puppetry, film and dance to create an eerie and hypnotic experience.
The imagery gave me ideas of things I want to draw. I could not take pictures of the actual performance, but the little theatre was pretty cool.
I talked to some of the cast and crew afterwards and was quite impressed. The lead actress/dancer also makes some of the puppets and masks used in the performance; she is an inspiration. I hear they will be performing at the Hollywood fringe festival as well.
Afterwards we went to some random bar in Santa Monica but were upset they no longer had food. It had an okay atmosphere.
Stil hungry, we went to the Prince in Ktown because I hear they had good chicken. Very cool; old fashioned atmosphere but very dark so my pictures did not come out so well.
Sunday I did not leave the house; I made the Dada drawing and watched "Waco". I thought maybe I had a hangover; but I think I was just sick because I feel much worse today. After making this post I will walk a dog and then probably just rest for the rest of the day.
