This is something I have thought about many times. When we see someone doing very well in life, one of the first things people sometimes say is, “That person is lucky.” And honestly, I understand why people say that. Luck can play a big role in someone's journey. But from my own point of view, I don't believe success is only about luck.

I believe success comes from hard work and luck working together.
For me, hard work has to come first. You cannot just sit down and wait for luck to knock on your door. Even if luck brings an opportunity your way, what will you do with it if you are not prepared?
I like to think of it this way: hard work puts you on the road, while luck can sometimes help you meet the right opportunity along the way.
Imagine someone who has been learning a skill for years. Maybe nobody noticed them at first. They keep practicing, making mistakes, learning from those mistakes and improving themselves. Then one day, they meet someone who needs exactly that skill. That person gives them an opportunity that changes their life.
People might look at them and say, “He was lucky.”
Yes, maybe he was lucky to meet the right person at the right time. But his hard work had already prepared him for that opportunity.
That is why I don't like to completely separate luck from hard work when talking about success.
I have also learned that hard work does not always produce instant results. Sometimes you can put in so much effort and still feel like nothing is happening. That can be frustrating. But I believe those efforts are still building something inside you, even when the results are not visible yet.
Then, when the opportunity finally comes, you are more likely to recognise it and make good use of it.
At the same time, I don't want to pretend that everyone who works hard will automatically become successful. Life does not always work that way. People have different circumstances, opportunities and challenges. Sometimes, being in the right place at the right time matters too.
So, if you ask me whether success comes from luck or hard work, my honest answer is both.
Work hard. Keep learning. Stay consistent. Keep putting yourself out there.
You may not be able to control when luck will come, but you can make sure that when it finally comes, you are ready to take advantage of it.
For me, that's the real connection between hard work, luck and success.
