There are three essential conditions for a person to be relevant, namely, managing the time, identifying the need and responding to the timely need appropriately.
It is vital to manage the time and pace our life accordingly. We do not need to rush nor wait impatiently. Using a flight passenger as an example, if the person is too early, the check-in counter may not be open yet and it can be quite restless to wait for too long. However, too late may cause the person to rush or even missing the flight.
Identifying the need of the time can avoid the unnecessary trial and error although the latter is a method of problem solving. However, we can follow the standard of practice or gaze into other people’s experience to identify the need. Many a time this really works. Comparatively, if we get a new product and try to install or use it without first referring to the manual, it is not only time consuming to learn using it and we may even mess up the product. Although difficult, it is certainly helpful if we are able to intuitively identify the need.
Managing the time and identifying the need are vital. Nevertheless, we have to respond to the timely need appropriately, if not, we are not able to make a difference. Using the people living in a society as an example, they have the responsibility to help build up the society. But if they choose to be indifferent to the timely needs of their society, the society can hardly progress and eventually the people suffer due to the silent majority and the selfish mentality.

人必须符合三个基本条件以成为一位贴切性的人。这意味着他能夠掌握时间、确定需求和针对需要做出适当回应。
按照时间的节奏生活是重要的，以致我们可以避免急促或不耐烦地等待。以乘坐飛机为例，如果太早到机场，登机柜台可能还没有开啟，而且等待时间过长会令人不耐烦。但是，太遲了可能会导致慌张，甚至错过航班。
确定需要可以避免不必要的反复试验，尽管这是一种解决问题的方法。其实，我们可以根据已有的实践准则处理有关事宜，或者我们也可以借助他人的经验来确定需求。不少时候这是确定需求的实用途径。相比之下，假如在获得新产品时即尝试安装或使用它，我们却没有先参照安装和使用手册，结果不仅耗时，而且甚至可能会破坏了产品。若我们能够憑直觉而确定需求，这当然是很有帮助但却不是容易作到的事。
掌握时间和确定需求的确非常重要。然而我们还必须対需要作出适当的回应，否则我们便无法成为具有贴切性的人。以生活在社会中为例，人们有责任建立社会。假如我们选择对社会的需要漠不关心，社会就难以进步，最终由于多数人的沉默和自私心态，将会导致人民受苦。
我们要负责任成为具有贴切性的人！
