In the music I think people forget how important the dancers were to the evolution of Hip-Hop. In the beginning the MC use to hype up the DJ... But who was the DJ looking at? How did he gauge his feel for the crowd? If the DJ played a track that wasn't moving the crowd it did nothing for the party or the environment. In dance the DJ can't forget about the dancers.
So that brings us into Turf Dancing which I decided "Taking Up Room on the Floor" would be the best name for T.U.R.F. I kinda felt that when I met my 1st student Demetrius Ziegler who was killed in West Oakland, CA to a act of murder at the age of 15 years old. Turf Dancing Is something that I had to learn through trial and error how to turn a dollar from it. It take a little work but not much, all you gotta do is be organized and invest your money in the right things to protect yourself as a dancer.
