Hi steemit!

I'm not sure about how you guys feel when it comes to political and philosophical issues, but I want to share my thoughts about the discussion "is there a job for everyone?".

The usual argument when it comes to welfare, is that there isn't enough jobs for everyone.

But is there a reason why we shouldn't have jobs for everyone?

Let's imagine there's 750 million people in the world, instead of the actual 7.5 billion.
Would we then have jobs for everyone?
Let's keep in mind that all we've done is downscaling the population to a tenth.

Is one of the reasons that we don't have enough unrenewable ressources, such as coal?
Or is it because we don't have enough companies/corporations to employ people?
Or could it be that people specialize in the wrong industry, or educate themselves for jobs which don't have enough demand?

My point is not whether we should have universal income, welfare etc. or not, but rather why we allegedly don't have enough jobs for everyone.

What do you think?
