This isn't the article I thought I would write next but after this experience I was inspired to put finger to keyboard.
My daughter Charlie (6yo) is currently on holidays from indoctrination and one of her favourite things is to build cubby houses to keep the boredom at bay. After building a cubbyhouse this very day she came to me with a blank piece of paper and asked me to help her come up with some rules for her latest cubby. I explained to her that if the rules were needed and/or necessary then they would be quite obvious and that she shouldn't need my help to come up with any. After reflecting on this for a while she came to me with the following list of rules which I reckon is pretty good.
1. All Ages can come
Everyone must share
No fighting
'Everyone must share' sounds a little communist but I'm pretty happy with the list as a whole. Perhaps her communism can work if it's implemented properly. lol. Seriously though, if she can identify 'no fighting' as important by age 6 then I have hope for her. Pretty wise.
