It was just a few years after that picture was taken that I became aware there was some kind of a dark cloud hanging over us. I didn't know what that was all about but would keep hearing things, people being hateful and violent.
Why? Growing up in a small rural town, I saw very little violence personally. It seemed to me that everyone was getting along reasonably well. So, what in the world is all this trouble about? Are these people in other countries so much different than I am? Are they not just trying to live, don't they love their families just like we do?
What I was hearing made no sense to me at all but I was taught to mind my own business right after never lie. I don't know if getting the play phone for a present had anything to do with it but I had an idea, a way to find out the truth.
I would try to get a ham radio, maybe as a gift, so that I could make contact with kids my age all around the world just to see if they were so different. I felt certain that I would find out that we're not so different after all.
Fast forward to the present day and TribeSteemUp's question. My answer is to teach/show everyone in the world that we're not so different, we've just been tricked into thinking we are.
It's only through government and media propaganda that were recruited into opposing "teams" to hate and kill each other when it's actually the governments creating a false reality. As Schaeffer Cox would say, "We're not the rebels, they're the rebels."
