👀 Look Into My Eyes!👀

This is my entry for the New #MacroPhotgraphy Challenge hosted by homeartpictures@homeartpictures

I am focusing on EYES for this blog and although I have posted a few of these images before, I decided they suited my theme: "Look Into My Eyes," so here they are!

This beautiful pelican was resting on the sand on the beach and because I was on a jetty above him I was able to capture him from this angle. He was asleep when I first saw him but after saying a few enticing, fish-themed words to him in pelican lingo, he woke up in time for me to get a couple of good close ups. When no tasty herrings appeared in front of him, he decided he must have been dreaming and promptly went back to sleep.

This handsome Eastern Water Dragon was equally obliging when I 'stumbled' upon him when out walking one day. As much as I love the fabulous textures and patterns on his skin I was amazed to see the beautiful brown flecks in his iris and the thin yellow circle surrounding his very large pupil. You can't really blame him for the dilated pupils after his near death experience by the human avalanche which missed him by a millimeter prior to taking this picture. 😀

The large brown eyes of this alpaca is just one of the many features I love about him. His face, and that gentle smile would melt anyone's heart and if you were as privileged as I was, to get close enough to gaze into those deep, liquid pools of beauty, you'd fall instantly in love with him too.

The wide open eyes of this proud peacock spoke volumes. Can you see the alert, slightly intimidating look in his smoky blue peepers? His stern expression was emphasized by the haughty tilt of his head and I believe if I'd gotten any closer, that sharp aristocratic beak would have found its mark in my soft flesh without a hint of remorse.
