I just made this proposal to a friend as a Steem marketing effort and thought I'd pass it on as a possibility for others. She has some unique networking opportunities, so I'm encouraging her to recruit to Steem and I'm offering to buy SBD she and her friends earn at a premium for local currency. This solves the problem of having to introduce people to the ins and outs of cryptocurrency exchange at the same time they're introduced to the Steem community and social network. Just let your friends know about Steem, and let them know a price and a maximum amount of SBD they can count on you to buy off of them, and you're in business.
Much like Facebook was incubated on college campuses, Steem can benefit from introduction to closely knit, cohesive communities in which to grow. If you or others you know have connections to such communities, you're in a position to help both them and yourself by introducing them to Steem using this approach.
