RE: Retro Game Ports and The Potential Concerns of Patreon
It is sad but honestly, a lot of it is copyright/trademark laws in place in most countries outside of Japan. In Japan, there is no "fair use" there is no defense for fans to make games based

RE: Retro Review - Cheese Cat-Astrophe Starring Speedy Gonzales
I didn't know this game even existed, I don't remember any screenshots in magazines of the time nor reviews. Of course, back in the day, Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo were inundated with great games,

RE: Die Hard Arcade - A 3D beat-em-up game where you kick ass as "John McClane" [ENG/ESP]
Honestly, while this was an awesome experience in arcades, it was definitely less fun at home after having dropped $50 for it at EB (I picked it up on discount for $20 and still feel ripped off slightly).

RE: Top Spin, the first Xbox tennis game
This came out when I was horribly addicted to Sega's Virtua Tennis on Dreamcast. I wanted to get this but I had not yet gotten an Xbox so I had to pass on it. It looked amazing and the few people I knew

RE: Pre-Ordering is a SCAM! | - | ¡Hacer un pedido anticipado es una ESTAFA! | Eng - Esp
It is ridiculous how they have done pre-orders since the Xbox and PlayStation 2 era. That seems to be the first generation where anything of substance was not provided to pre-ordering fans. I can't remember

RE: Review of Free Fire // Reseña de Free Fire
I played this one for a few weekends while trying out other, similar, games on my phone to get away from Call of Duty Mobile for a bit. Free Fire was fun but it was cumbersome too. I do like that PC players

RE: Fatal Fury, one of the first fighting classics
I was never a big fan of Fatal Fury, it came out during a time I was horribly addicted to SNK's brawlers (Mutation Nation, Sengoku, etc.) and the arcades near me only had one Fatal Fury cabinet which was

The last time I pre-ordered a game was Final Fantasy VII for the PlayStation back in 1997. After that, I just have not been into any games, or looking forward to any, that were worth putting money down

RE: Evil Dead Redux Horrror Brawler Based on Movie Franchise First Two Levels Let's Play
If you are a fan of games like Scott Pilgrim vs The World (I think it was on Xbox 360 era consoles and PC) or Streets of Rage or Final Fight then you will be right at home with Evil Dead Redux. It is free

RE: Rediscovering Nostalgia: An Unforgettable Experience with *SimCity 2000
It may have been that I was just too used to the way Nintendo changed up the original SimCity that made me unable to get into this one. I remember buying it and wanting to enjoy it - how could it not be

This was one of those games I remember waiting for my turn to play at school during lunch but not having enough time to actually play because some kids were so much better at it (we played on a 1 life/1

RE: My Played Video Games Review: Breath of Fire for the Super Nintendo
I remember the days I spent grinding in Phantasy Star IV and Might and Magic to get anywhere. I hated it but it made up so much of my gaming time back then. I came into console RPG's from the mid 80's

I wanted to grab this one at release but for some reason the local EB and Software Etc (my places to get games) had this priced $10 higher than other similar games. I understood RPG's often cost more as

Oh man, this released? I knew they were working on it but I was not aware it was out. Sounds like they kept true to the old school style of gameplay, that can be good or bad depending on how you feel about

I need to go back and read magazines from this time as I was squarely in the Gamefan only camp at this time (I could only afford one magazine a month as I was buying so many games). I missed out on a lot

The demo certainly feels like Contra mixed with Metroid a bit. There are bits where you run and gun but then there are parts where that is not the best tactic as the level changes direction and such. It

RE: Bagitman, an original arcade game for Commodore 64
Looks like Lode Runner was a big inspiration for this, not a bad thing as I hardly know of any titles in the style of that classic. This looks deceptively easy too - gotta love that about the classics,
