Not since we saw Ninja Golf on the Atari 7800 have we seen the kind of genre mixing that we do in Battle Golfer Yui for the Sega Genesis. The best part is, it is now playable in English! I mean, if you think golf is too boring then it is either this or Ninja Golf unless you want to play Nintendo’s take on golf. Nintendo’s golf franchise doesn’t have a mad scientist trying to take over the world though. Battle Golfer Yui does.
As with all mad scientist schemes, there is a farce of a legitimate front covering up the evil, in the case of Battle Golfer Yui it is a golfing tournament. Two high school students, Yui Mizuhara and Ran Ryuzaki are just normal students but they excel at golf and find themselves drafted by the mad scientist. Before he can brainwash Yui though, she escapes and decides to fight to save her friend and uncover the evil behind the scenes.
Your character has what amounts to magic points and uses them to call into action abilities on the various golf courses.
