Infiltrating the tavern to find Gennaro, I silently eliminated several guards in stealth. However, after choosing to clear out the remaining bandits when I could just movie ahead, a botched takedown alerted the whole cavern. The bandits swarmed my position, and killed me before I could reach the captive.
With no more bandits remaining nearby outside, I decided to head inside the big cavern where Gennaro was likely being held tied up. As I approached the entrance, I spotted two guards standing directly in my path, forcing me to wait until they finished their conversation.
They were talking about getting drinks the next time they headed into town.
Once one of the guards walked off, I moved in on the remaining bandit and choked him to death without wasting any time. I dragged his body into a nearby box, anticipating that his drinking partner would eventually return to check on him.
Stepping deeper into the tavern, I realized multiple bandits were occupying the building at once. To distract one of the guards, I tossed a few dinarii onto the floor nearby. I had to slip into cover quickly as the bandit walked directly toward my position to pick up the coins.
Once he stopped, I threw another coin to force him to turn his back, then rushed up and choked him to death, taking my dinarii back from his corpse afterward.
Moments later, I was nearly detected by another guard who I assumed would stay stationary. When he suddenly began walking toward my side of the room, I took cover at the perfect moment.
I waited for him to head back to his post, then shadowed his steps and choked him out from behind.
At that point, I could have moved out of the tavern to continue searching for Gennaro. However, I decided to clear out the rest of the bandits in the immediate area first, so I turned back inside to hunt down the remaining guards.
It appeared there were about two pairs left inside the building, in addition to the enemies I had bypassed outside earlier.
I targeted another guard, but I had to wait in the shadows for quite some time because he was facing directly toward my cover. As soon as he turned to face the opposite direction, I lunged forward and attempted to choke him to death.
Unfortunately, the takedown failed and I messed up the execution. The guard survived the initial strike and immediately raised the alarm to alert the rest of the tavern.I drew my weapon and opened fire.
The remaining bandits swarmed my position, closing in quickly to take me down. Despite being so close to securing Gennaro, I died in the chaotic firefight before I could ever reach him.
