I find this cartoon really good... and truthful.
Cartoon by Tim Eagan
Nowadays, the largest majority of the CEOs expect to have maximum profits... by squeezing their employees to the extreme. Many people can't hardly afford their monthly expenses... but then, the same CEOs expect people to buy the products from their companies. With what money, though?
Sorry, Mr Greedy CEOs, but life doesn't work like that.
If you don't pay enough to your employees... how can you expect them to buy your own products?
If people can't afford your products, your only solution as CEO is to make discounts and sell them cheaper...
... and to sell cheaper you have to squeeze your employees a bit more... reducing their paychecks and such. But, as soon as you do that, your employees can't buy your products... even after the discount.
Cartoon by Clay Bennett
It's a never-ending cycle. The greedier CEOs get, the less buying power society has... and corporations end up in crisis... and possibly in bankruptcy.
The only way for companies to thrive is by ensuring society has enough buying power... and for that, the Mr Greedy CEO mentality has to be thrown out the window.
