I cannot in my life ever forget this day because it marked another school experience that people do tick off their bucket list, Since it happened we all who were there and those who were involved would always laugh about it.
I left home on Friday night to school to enable me to read well and concentrate only on my studies, though I knew it wasn't going to be easy and that it was going to be a hell of stress but I still decided to make it there whatever way it would take.
During this exam period, it is always a time when students have to sacrifice their time, energy, and comfort in all aspects of life, this was our case for this period, I never expected to ever experience this in this period.
So every morning around 3 a.m. we would have to find ways to take our bath because it would be the best time to do so before the whole school became awake, this was the norm since we started writing exams, and we had this designated spot were a tap was located and it was the best place to take our bath, we do take our bath in turns as there were three tap space available and some people were to create a barrier with wrapper so prying eyes wouldn't see people who were bathing.
We took turns doing this as we were ten girls in number in excluding myself, the first three girls took their bath and the next three held the barrier safe.
Just as the first three were done the next three went in to take their bath and we the last three girls held the barrier while the fourth girl joined the three other girls, because there was a lot of noise coming from the girls, and this was disturbing peace of the people who had control to the water, just as they were bathing and making noise the water went off, meaning the people who had the control of the water, had put off the water and these girls had soap all over them and they were nowhere done with bathing, all the while the other girls who had already taken their bath began laughing at the ordeal of these girls who had yet to be done taking their bath.
I was laughing too, because it was funny, imagine if it was me in this situation then it wouldn't be funny at all, now I was faced with the issue of looking for another place to bathe that morning before it became bright out.
Now back to these four girls who had soap all over them, it wasn't a funny ordeal to them either, but it was to us who weren't in their shoes, they had no choice but to use their wrappers to clean themselves up and joined us on another quest of looking for a different place to have our bath, which was another war, because the place we went next was filled up, and we had to look for a big bucket so we could all have our bath at one even though it wasn't going to be a fully thoroughly clean bath.
This is why I miss home, but it's also a sacrifice we have to endure till Saturday, by then every exam will be done and everyone will have the privilege again to have a good bath in their comfortable bathroom.
So you see why I can't ever forget this day, whenever I remember it I just burst out laughing and this girl would look at me as if I have lost a but in my head, but I tell them it is something that would take a long time before it left my head
When they were going to bath this morning I had to skip out and tell them I wasn't going to go, I would wait till it was daybreak and go pay a fee for a public bath at least there I was sure there was not going to be the same water incident.
