Good day everyone, happy weekend to you all, hope you are having a nice day?
I like this topic for the third edition of the hive learners contest week 50 because it allows me to share an experience I had last year with a stingy and selfish person.
So this friend of my husband had talked to him just a few days before Christmas, saying that he didn't have a good source of income and that he wanted my husband to give him money because he usually sees my hubby's Facebook page, and whenever he posted anything, this guy was the first person to like and comment.
Since my husband fixes phones, he responded, "I don't have money, but I can teach you my work." As a result, the man came to the house. He brought Garri, two tubers of yam, liquid soap, and a few other items, and while I appreciated that he brought them all, everything he brought that was edible was gone after a week because it was used to feed everyone in the house.
After three weeks, I was expecting him to leave some specific money to help us feed the house, but he hadn't. I called my husband and asked him to speak to his friend; he told me to ignore it and that he would take care of it once he had some money.
While I forgot about him not bringing anything, we were just living life as it came, until one day I stumbled across his phone and saw that his account balance was around two hundred thousand naira, [200,000]. I was shocked because he had called me one day and asked me to lend him money that he would return, but he didn't, and I didn't ask him for it because I knew what it was like to be broke.
This guy was always complaining of being broke , but he had such money and he was always saying he was broke, I wasn't offended I just thought maybe it was someones money, after three months of staying with us, he didn't drop a kobo to contribute to the house keep, but after this three months he had. Stay with us and since hubby was trying to show him how to do things, which he had not learnt well, all of a sudden, he started having some kind of attitude that was pleasant.
Then one day, a man came and said he was looking for him, I started questioning the man because of a statement he made, he said this guy(hubby friend) had a shop at one junction on our street, I said he didn't, he then mention his name, I was shocked, this was someone who was staying with us, he never mentioned anything about getting a shop or starting his own business, he was so selfish to the point that he did all this things secretly without informing anybody.
I called him and told him that he was a very selfish and greedy person who constantly wanted to take from others but was unable to give back. I told him that I was hurt because I had no idea someone could be both wicked and greedy at the same time.
We asked him to leave our home, which he had already planned to do because his bags were packed, so we left him. My husband wept because he never thought his friend could hurt him in such a way.
Because he was only interested in his own advancement and not ours, who were accommodating him, this guy showed greediness, selfishness, and stinginess. He had his plans from the beginning and carried them out; he was only concerned with himself. He ruined our relationship by doing this.
Entry to hive learners contest, though the entry is late, I had a very bad network issue through out yesterday till I got to church this morning, better late than never right?
