This question from the judge jane1289@jane1289 for this week's ladies of Hive actually does hits close to home because I have had my own moments where I felt like the world was doing everything possible to make me feel small, invisible, like my voice did not matter as much as everyone else's, and I think if we are being honest here, everybody has faced that feeling at some point, whether it is from people who have doubted you, situations that humbled you, or just life throwing things your way that made you question your own worth.

For me, I see that strength does not come from you pretending that the pain does not exist, then I used to think that being strong meant to smile through everything and acting like nothing gets to me, but honestly yeah.... that is not strength at all , that is just suppression that is waiting to explode later on, I have come to know that real strength, I mean the kind I have learned to hold onto, comes from acknowledging that yes, this does hurts, yes, I feel small right now, and still choosing to take one more step forward anyway.

One thing that keeps me grounded is me remembering why I started whatever it is I am doing now in the first place.... see when the world tries to shrink me, I go back to my purpose, the reason behind all my dreams, the people that are counting on me, even the version of myself I am trying to become, that purpose then becomes my anchor when everything else feels like it is trying to pull me under.

I also lean heavily on my faith and truthfully there is something about believing that this moment, that this struggle, is not the final chapter of my story that keeps me from giving up completely... so I just remind myself that feeling small right now does not actually mean that i am actually small, it just means i am in a season that has not fully revealed itself yet.

Another thing that helps me is community, having people around me who remind me of my worth when I forget it myself, and see sometimes you cannot pull yourself up alone, and that is okay, truly there is no shame in leaning on people who see your value even when you cannot see it in yourself in that moment, I think about my one true friend, and how just having someone who genuinely knows you, who reminds you of who you really are, can pull you back from the edge of feeling completely invisible.

I will not pretend it is easy though, because some days the weight feels heavier than others, and some days I do not bounce back as quickly as I would like to, but I have learned that moving forward does not always mean feeling ready or feeling strong, sometimes it just means showing up anyway, even shaky, even uncertain, even while still processing whatever tried to make you feel small in the first place.

So I feel that at the end of the day , we know the world will always try to shrink people who are meant for something bigger, that is just how life works sometimes, but every other time I choose to keep moving despite that, I am proving to myself that no circumstance and no person also no moment of doubt gets to define how big or small my life actually becomes.
