Do You Believe In Miracles?

Answer:

This question can be likened to these ones;

Do you need air?

Do you need food?

Do you need water?

If your answer to all of the above is a 'yes', then you have my answer;

Yes, I believe in Miracles!

Miracles abound in our lives, we only need to take a moment to look all around us for us to understand that miracles are a part of our daily existence. Some are huge, some tiny, some in-between, but all miracles. We often overlook the everyday variety of miracles that we encounter every step of the way because we are looking out for something so 'special' or extraordinary before we can believe in them, a lot of things we actually take for granted along the way are miracles.

I get so amused when I hear people say they want to investigate a Miracle. How do you investigate something that's way beyond your comprehension? Science is great because through it we have been able to unravel some mysteries behind the scenes but that's as far as it goes; Science does not have the ability to validate miracles because it can never understand them fully and that's why there's no scientific explanation for a lot of phenomena. The mind in its smallness finds miracle impossible and therefore doubts the miraculous.

One of the miracles I find super amazing is that of life. How does it begin? What happens from the time the sperm meets the ovum, the millions of tiny transformations till a human is brought forth to life? How it lives, grows and thrive in the womb?

I am not yet a parent but that doesn't make the whole reproductive process less of a miracle, from the sexual union of two people, to the fertilisation of the ovum by the sperm, to the different stages of the embryonic development, the gestation period and then the birth of that little human, just imagine the intricate interplay of genetic information and how it has to be in a particular sequence for success to be achieved.

Anytime I attend ceremonies marking the birth of a new born baby, I marvel at the miracle that produced it and I know for sure that it's never a chance happening but the handiwork of a Master Craftsman, The Almighty God!

Science might be able to describe and explain many aspects of this whole reproductive process, I still believe that there are lots of complexities involved which the lens of science can never ever capture.

Thank you ericvancewalton@ericvancewalton for this challenge.
