A teacher is a formal instructor who is able to impart meaningful knowledge. A good teacher is one who teaches, who is patient, brilliant and has a good teacher and student relationship.
Today, I celebrate one of the most sincere people I have ever encountered. I celebrate my chemistry teacher, Miss Doris. She's not only a mother but a role model and mother figure to many. She is kind hearted and strict when it comes to education and would give us so many assignments and research to work on. A woman with virtue and great qualities is what I would call her as she is so nice, kind, and a great teacher.
My experience with Miss Doris is one which I would never forget in a lifetime. She has shown me to be courageous, loving and to show leadership roles at the same time. I remember vividly the first day I was to write Maths exams as a senior student. I was not really good with subjects that had to do with calculations and so, my answer booklet was so scanty. I barely filled a page with answers. Miss. Doris walked by and was like, " This couldn't be my baby girl''. I immediately burst into tears as I felt so angry with myself that I had disappointed my role model and let her down. She comforted me in the exam hall and told me to see her after the exams.
I went to her office and as usual, her table was covered with several textbooks and lesson notes. I silently wished for her not to be in the office as I didn't want to encounter her disappointed face. Seeing her in the office, I started crying again and she made me understand she wasn't angry with me but instead, she believed I could do it but I wasn't putting my best and that was the reason I had problems with Maths . She guided me on procedures to read for exams and to take Math and other subjects which had to do with calculations seriously. I followed her advice, and I can now proudly say my mathematics skills have improved a lot from how it used to be.
Sometimes, teaching jobs appear to be stressful, hectic and frustrating especially when teaching teenagers who are maturing into adulthood. It is not an easy task at all but Miss Doris would still put on a smiling face even in the hardest of times. She would take her time to explain even if it was the hundredth time to make sure everybody understands what she was teaching. Chemistry practicals with Miss Doris are the absolute best.
Whenever I was to go for a debate competition or an essay competition. Miss Doris was always there to give encouraging words. She is one who wouldn't mind spending from her pocket as far as it was for a good course. Even when students would approach her that they needed money for food or education, she would not hesitate to render assistance. There were even times when I lost confidence in myself and felt like I couldn't go on but she was always there to lend a helping hand.
Another experience I had with her was when I had serious menstrual pain in class. It was so bad that I was crying so hard people wondered what was wrong with me but could not actually approach me to ask but she did and that showed how caring she was. I came to her with the pains I had and I realized she was the only one with the most hearted. She took good care of me and got me pain reliefs to ease the pain. She showed the attributes of a mother to me. I missed some lectures and she took out time to explain to me.
She's beautiful, amazing and makes sure to carry every one along in class. She does not have any favorites as she sees everyone as equal. She's a mother figure and a role model to many. She's one of the people I would never forget so easily in my lifetime. She has a contagious smile, she is patient, lively, courageous, industrious, brilliant, has a great sense of humor, dedicated and sincere. Miss Doris is the absolute best. Can't love her less.
