After returning to the cavern entrance, I silently eliminated the outer guards and pushed across the scenic mountain ridge. Alerted bandits and their leader, Messina. I opened fire, also forced a heavy shotgun and rifle shootout. After clearing out the snipers and looting the fallen guards, I reached and untied Gennaro.

Though I was not too bothered by the setback, I found myself back at the entrance of the cavern where I had first entered. I started taking down the bandits one by one all over again.

Deciding not to waste any extra time on them, I went straight for the guard posted at the outer entrance of the cavern and choked him down easily. With the path clear, I stepped outside the cavern to continue my search for Gennaro.

It was clear I still had a long way to go, but the high ground offered incredible views of the surrounding mountains and lakes below, so I just couldn't help but stop for a moment.

Unfortunately, this side of the mountain was also heavily guarded by bandits. I had to remain cautious, knowing full well that they could easily overpower me if I dropped my guard. Keeping that in mind, I closed the distance on another bandit watching over the path and choked him down quietly.

I kept moving forward toward Gennaro's location, which still seemed to be a considerable distance away.

Suddenly, the bandit leader spotted me, and the entire camp opened fire. I immediately shot back using my long shotgun, taking the enemies down one by one as they rushed my position.

A sniper stationed on the high ground posed a massive threat, inflicting heavy damage every time I stepped out of cover. I navigated closer to his position and took him out with my shotgun rifle.

Realizing there were far more enemies than I had initially anticipated, I switched to a long-range rifle to pick off the distant bandits that my shotgun could not reach.

Once the immediate threat cleared, I decided it was time to push forward. Another bandit suddenly sprinted out to shoot me, but I had my shotgun rifle ready and took him down first.

I made sure to loot every body for any dinars I could find, knowing I would need the money to purchase special weapons later on.

As I drew closer to Gennaro, the bandit leader, Messina, shouted to his followers to kill me before I could reach them. I could hear Gennaro screaming for help in the distance.

When I finally got near him, he yelled at me to kill the remaining bandits, warning that if he died, it would be my fault.

I reached Gennaro tied up on the ground, though Messina was nowhere to be seen. Expecting a sudden ambush or cinematic twist the moment I freed him, I carefully approached Gennaro and untied his ropes but nothing bad happened.

To be continued.
