Sometimes I wake up before my alarm clock. More precisely, I mostly wake up before the alarm clock. Sometimes for an hour. Sometimes more. But in any case, it doesn't happen because I got enough sleep. This is my anxiety. I've suffered from it before, but now the situation has deteriorated significantly. Air alarms, work, road, deadlines, letters, lectures, texts, animal care, animal food, veterinary medicine... Sometimes it seems to me that I'm in eternal time, that I can't cope...
And next to me it's like a completely different world.
In this other world, no one is in a hurry.
Look at its inhabitants! 😁 One is lying on her back, putting her stomach up, as if he had his own personal sun. The second one curled up and hid his nose under his tail, as if saving heat. The third one spread out on the sofa, occupying an area disproportionate to her dimensions. Everyone's eyes are closed, their muzzles are calm, their breathing is even. Sometimes someone's paw twitches, which means that something important happens there in a dream. Maybe he's running. Maybe he's eating. Maybe he's just living his best life.
Then it can be different. If I have to work in the city, I start getting ready. If I work remotely on this day, I go, make myself coffee and return to this sleepy kingdom to start working on an article or other text.
They continue to sleep... I look at them and think: that's who really settled down right! I should learn the rules of life from them!
I'm careful. Very careful. I move slowly and hardly breathe. Because if someone of them wakes up... Someone will jump up and express their attitude to my behavior with a loud bark that will be impossible to stop. This is especially true for Michelle and Donut. Someone will look at me with the expression "oh, you're already here", turn over to the other side, sigh and continue to sleep. This is the best option. In fact, we have only two options here: chaos or sleep.
You know what I think... It wasn't me who got them! They're the ones who got me.
They chose a person who will take care of them. Who makes sure that there is food. Which corrects the blanket. Which switchs on the heating. Which works har so that nothing changes in their world. And they are absolutely sure that this is how it should be. Probably, there are not enough such people for everyone, so they got me together 😂 Thank you, at least they didn't divide me into parts ....
I like their calm confidence that everything is going right. They are sure that the world is arranged just like this: a human (me) functions and serves dogs, dogs (they are) sleep in the meantime. Then they eat and sleep again.
Sometimes, when I sit down to work, one of them comes up, settles next to me and falls asleep again. It's like checking: the system works, dogs can continue to rest.
I type text, answer letters, read documents. And nearby quietly snorts a small furry warm creature, which has no deadlines, no plans, no worries.
