Hi, my dear Fungi Hunters!
It's amazing, but despite the winter, I'm still replenishing my mushroom photo-collection. The conclusion I draw from all this is that mushrooms are amazing guys perfectly suited to survive in any conditions. The second conclusion was concerns me personally and says that the world is much more diverse than I used to think, and success often depends on how ready I am to go beyond my own ideas about it.
I'll try to explain what I'm talking about here. It's all about associations. When I hear the word mushroom in my head there is a picture with an aspen, a fly agaric or a cheesecake or something like that. Well, that's what comes to my mind in the first place. But we can hardly find the same diverse world that is the world of mushrooms. It has a huge number of species and our photo hunt for them will be as much successful as far we can get away from our own ideas.
That's how I accidentally found the company of these green mushroom guys on an old tree trunk. I wasn't looking for mushrooms there on purpose. I just saw this trunk and I thought I could find some interesting object for macro photography on it. But I was rewarded much more than I expected! I found these tiny mushrooms and it happened again in winter, when I couldn't even hope for such luck.
On the phograph below, I specially put an acorn next to them so that you can see how tiny they are. If you look from afar, it is impossible to say that they live on this tree trunk! And yet. Nature is amazing. It seems to us that we know so much, but it never ceases to surprise us and surprise us.
