Cross-posting is a new service apparently offered only by steempeak in which you can publish an old post already upvoted, resteemed, commented or downvoted, again in another "community".
So, for example, if you published the post through the Palnet community, maybe, a little later you decide to cross-post that publication in another community.
When you cross-post you have to take into account that:
There may really be good examples of using this tool.
For instance, let's say that a successful steemian decides to cross-post the publication of another steemian not so successful that, for whatever reason, he has received very little value in rewards compared to the quality of his post.
In this case, when doing cross-post, the successful steemian will create a new post of maximum 100 characters announcing that the unsuccessful steemian post has been cross-posted in a given community.
Great!
As a result, 90% of the rewards of the small post of 100 characters will go to the unsuccessful steemian wallet.
Great again!
But, in reality, this is not what happens...
or, in my opinion, this happens very rarely...
What does happen is to see more and more frequently cross-posts of successful steemians investing zero effort and re-publishing their own post.
Result of this DOUBLE GAIN with HALF EFFORT!
2 days ago I wrote an opinion post. I invested quite time while witting it and I was really happy to obtain so much comments and different points of view on the topic I was talking about.
Unfortunately for me, and as expected, the post was not discovered for any whale neither by any charitable Cross-poster addict (LoL)
Results after 24 hours: 67 upvotes, 17 comments, 12 of which were "human", the rest were mainly !BEER's and other repetitive stuff...

To make use of the cross-post service, the first and last time, I guess:
Results after 24 hours: 54 upvotes, 0 comments, similar rewards...DOUBLE GAIN HALF EFFORT!!!
GREAT Again!!! but disappointing at least...
I have been almost to the point of downvoting myself!!!
... this disappointing service which looks for me that it is more designed for squeezing the rewarding pool in a very efficient manner than for anything else.
Of course, I understand that this service is still under development and for sure it will evolve in a better tool with the time but, till then, we have to be careful with its bad use and not take advantage of its involuntary benefits.
So, beware, next time I see one Cross-post highly rewarded I will downvote it with all my power if I find that its use is not sufficiently justified...
But don't worry, my downvote is still tiny :-)
