A necessary introduction

One of the things that made it possible to participate in the initiatives of this community was to increase my visits to the coffee shops of the country. I recognize that, despite preferring to enjoy the coffee that I make myself in the privacy of my home or at work with my colleagues, I have discovered that in coffee shops the enjoyment of this beverage is experienced from a different perspective.

Another important element was to confirm that in coffee shops you can do much more than just drink coffee and in this year that is about to end I was able to corroborate the above by carrying out scientific and recreational activities or work meetings in different coffee shops in the country.

For such reasons I want to make this publication in which I will make known the coffee shops and/or places dedicated to coffee that I liked the most in this 2023.

A jewel dedicated to coffee and much more.

Cafeteria Los Helechos was one of the three coffee shops that I enjoyed the most in 2023. In addition to the quality of the coffee they offer, the excellent service provided by their workers, the place served to celebrate part of my 26th wedding anniversary with my wife and to say goodbye to a couple with whom I have great ties of friendship that went to live in another country.

A favorite place for business meetings and scientific activities.

One of the most visited cafeterias by me is La Cubana, which is located in the Salón of the same name in the Comodoro Hotel in Havana, Cuba.

This year we did several activities in this place where we could see the excellent comfort of the place, the richness of the coffee they provide and I enjoyed the various activities that their workers do, to ensure that customers have a happy stay in the place.

My number one

It is true that I enjoyed all the coffee shops I visited this year to the fullest and I returned to each of them on more than one occasion.

However, the place where I felt the best, where I was most impressed and where I learned the most was La Casa del Café in Topes de Collantes. In this place I was given a tour of the history of coffee, its origins, routes and growth of its production, the different utensils that have been used throughout history for the production of this beverage.

We also learned from the barista how to prepare different types of this beverage and he gave us an explanation about this bean that increased my general culture about this delicacy called COFFEE.
