At first, I disagree with the opinion that love is a choice. But then, as I started to get disappointed with my relationships with my family and friends, I realized that if I find new ones, then I would start all over again. The same things would happen. And this was what last longer to me - why did I love them in the first place? That question made me realize that why would I would throw away the reasons why I love them? Why would I forget that easily? Those were memories built on years that no one can replace. Just because of their flaws and yours, you will just forget those? So, I chose to persist even though it hurt a lot. At the end, it's all worth it. You will look back someday and say, "wow...we were able to get over it." Love hurts but it's part of the equation.
