This is an impromptu story I wrote about my first valentine, as an entry into the STACH Short Story Contest #20: Valentine Special- 199 words.
MY FIRST VALENTINE
I have always thought of myself as a lone ranger, and I have never been loved ever. Valentine was approaching, and damn! Lucy was pretty no doubt about that, she has the looks of an angel, and who was I a mere bricklayer to talk to her. She was as pretty and bright as the sun I have always thought to myself, and her smiles were like those of angels.
It was the 13th of February, and I never knew what happened to me, but I was as sure as hell standing in front of her house and contemplating whether to hit the doorbell. After much contemplation I hit the doorbell, and there was I standing face to face with the gorgeous Lucy, I was mincing my words but she caught the message. I was dumbfounded when she agreed to be my val, "I have a date!" I had screamed.
Today being the 14th of February, here I was sitting right in front of Lucy. It was my first valentine date, and I was determined to make it a memorable one.
