This week should have been the big moment, but it seems the XMR/ZEC integration will still have to wait a bit due to some last minute issues showing up.

The more important part was v3.20. It shipped a lot of the groundwork for XMR/ZEC, validator churn, POL and other upgrades, but the network then hit stability issues linked to non-deterministic app-layer calls and signing.
v3.20.1 is already out with fixes, but XMR/ZEC and a few other launches are now delayed around 1–2 weeks while devs focus on getting the network stable first.
So nothing too dramatic it seems; certainly less critical than the big May exploitation when the chain was halted for several weeks.
The past developments are reflected quite well in the chart:
We got a ~70% pump back in spring when the integration was first announced and a very harsh crash after that due to the hack. RUNE then traded on a baseline of around 40 cents before pickung more steam in August when XMR/ZEC integration was imminent.
Due to the delay, price is back in the 40s again, but it is clear that this chart is loaded and price is ready to explode higher soon. This is also confirmed from a macro perspective:
In fact, I have always argued that RUNE has a very clear 3 wave pattern - and it seems we are about to enter the 3rd one.
Personally, I think RUNE will revisit the $3-$4 range very soon. The more difficult question to me is whether this would already be a top signal or the first move to higher highs. It will probably take years for such a movement to play out with 2028 or 2029 probably being the crescendo. I guess the biggest hurdle for RUNE seems to be the stability and security issues as these continually set back the chain. I think a price beyond the previous ATH is reasonable should the network continue running smoothly. Especially considering that there also has been some deflationary tokenomics taking place this year.
