It was a nice surprise this weekend, hearing that Felicia had found a new home (see previous post), but the biggest surprise was finding out the next day that both Baskabas and Jinx had been sold as well .

These 2 had been sent to Bator Art Gallery in Szczyrk, Poland, as backups for the previous Magical Dreams exhibition, after the 2 original pieces sold.
Some sculptures are harder to part with than others and shipping Baskabas over was a very tough decision as I had grown quite fond of her. She was the first in what I like to refer to as the 'military' series, where I started making uniforms and using 'buttons'. I got the idea a few years earlier after visiting Budapest and walking past the shop of a local designer who made this military style clothing. I immediately loved it, but it would take a while before I turned that idea into a sculpture.
Baskabas is known as 'the voice of god'. Consider her an interpretor.
'Jinx'
Jinx came next. She is a bit more playful as the name suggests, but there's also a bit of sadness in her eyes. Also a bit of Goth influence in the 'hair'.
I'm quite excited that these pieces have found a new home and it makes for a nice ending of the year for me.
However, with these pieces sold, it also means that I am working very hard on a new piece, trying to get if finished in time for when the Magical Dreams exhibition moves to Warsaw. It's going to be close, but I should be able to pull it off.
