Why I Teach

Hey Steemians! I just want to share my life to you. I am real. This is me.
I am a teacher, not because teaching is one of the secure jobs or because I could not make up my mind about what course to take when I was in college but because it is my passion to teach. I teach because it is my passion, something that I love spending time doing. I love seeing the expressions of my students faces when they learn something new or when their old beliefs about something is changed because they learn. I have been teaching for more than ten years now. I have encountered students from all walks of life. I had students who hated me and students who loved me. I had students who courted me. Several of my students became my close friends and remembered me from now and then.
This year is my first year teaching in a public high school. My teaching item is for senior high school but because I am new, I become the troubleshooter. I have four Grade 7 sections totalling to 180 students who need more love. These are kids who come to class late, who pass their projects late, who bully each other, and whose focus and attention is not on me. I began to hate my work. But my husband brought me back to reality by helping me find ways in order to motivate my students.
Today, we had a blackout. The electricity did not come back until 4pm. To change the atmosphere of the class, I brought them to the beach. I was amazed by the attention they have given to me and my discussion, and I like it.
