A post with just a shot and mostly text for today as it’s quite a special day for me and my family. and also this story is rather unusual over all.

My parents got divorced a long time ago and they both found new life partners over the years. In this story I will focus on my mother and her friend and what rather big steps they are going to make over the next few weeks. Keep in mind that my mother is 71 and her friend is 74 now. My mothers partner is the widow of my mothers childhood friend and so I know him and his family my entire life, making this story eve more special I think.
My mother always had a fabric/ clothing store in a small town in the Netherlands and we lived above the store in a rather large house. Me and my brother once counted the rooms as little boys and including the toilet we counted thirty one rooms. Most of the space was in use as storage for stock and seasonal store interior stuff. But still there was enough room for living and playing inside (we could play hide and seek with friends inside on a rainy day). My parental house is also the parental house of my mother and now she has sold it after it was on the market for almost five years. Something we are all really stoked about as it was becoming way to big for her living there alone and the maintenance and heating for such a building is so costly.
Her new partner has sold his house yesterday to his son. It’s an old farmhouse which is split up in to two houses, front and back. Because his son has three kids his part became way too small they were looking into the options of expanding the house so they would have more room for the kids. But this would become a rather expensive building project. So they decided that he would sell the whole house towards his son and started looking for a new house, rent or buy. And just at the moment they decided to sell the house instead of expanding and renovating the house as a place where they would live together a great place came on the market. Situated on a nice quiet location with all the facilities downstairs but with enough room upstairs is any of the children or grandchildren want to spend the night. So a great place to spend the golden years together.
Today is the day that they will get the key of their new home where they will start to live together after a twenty year relation already. And a special note, both are moving from their parental home in to the house where they will start to live together. So at a the ages of 71 and 74 they both move out of their parental homes for the first time to start living together. We all find this a rather special story so we are planning to call a local newspaper and tv station for the moment that they move in together both from their parental home.
So I wanted to share this rather personal story with you guys as I find it such a special story that I like to share with lots and lots of people. Hope you like my writing.
